CIRCUIT BENDING
Juan Matos Capote
Translated by Google translate
Circuit Bending is the creative modification, based on short circuiting of low voltage electronics (toys, effects pedals, etc..) In order to create new musical instruments and sound generator.
Includes tools and electronic components needed to make the changes (potentiometers, resistors, capacitors, LEDs, etc.).
Normally the devices are modified are not new but recycled. Once processed, acquire a new life outside the original manufacturer intended. Many of these devices end up being used as instruments in certain forms of contemporary experimental music, random and improvised.
For the pa rticipación in this workshop do not need previous knowledge of electronics. During the workshop, will teach the necessary skills.
Each attendee must bring a toy or electronic device to be modified according to the techniques of Circuit Bending. These have to operate on batteries and be low voltage (9 V m Regulation's entering.)
Contents:
History of Circuit Bending. How to Circuit Bending safely. How to use essential tools. Basics of electronics and electronic components such as operating manuals and drivers to implant in the circuit to change. How to know which circuits are better to change. How to find interesting sounds in the circuit. What are the typical connections and combinations. Making the connections that will implement and take notes. Connecting cables with the various points. will explain the method of welding and how to drill the device box to implement the various controlled electronic response.
