‘Nothing Happens Routine’ is an exhibition by British artist Craig Stewart, who is presenting the results of an investigation into long-durational walking in the city of Barcelona.
This series of detailed drawings form a visual record of the wandering process, conveying sensations such as boredom, curiosity and displacement. Feelings of discomfort caused by time-consuming routines are embraced until repetitive actions allow the subconscious to gain control of physical navigation. The resulting images are a moving collection of drawings, which provide a restless illustration of transience within the city.
The exhibition is accompanied by a free experimental drawing workshop, and a series of long-durational site-specific drawing performances by the artist.
