OPEN CALL FOR EXHIBITIONS 2013

MISCELANEA presents the Open Call for the Calendar of Exhibitions 2013.
The projects will be chosen by a Selection Group, made up of artists, designers, cultural invesitgators and friends, that bring their knowledge and experience to the project evaluation process together with the MISCELANEA team, and will take on the task of reviewing and preselecting the projects presented.
The preselection will attempt to determine the projects most suited to MISCELANEA’s space taking into account a broad criteria and will subsequently be published in our website and submitted to a public vote.
Through this call will be selected 70% of the program of exhibitions in 2013:
- The five most voted projects in the public voting will be automatically selected.
- Once the voting process is completed , the jury will select from the remaining ones, several projects that will make up the exhibition program.
The number of projects selected by the jury can vary depending on the quality of projects submitted.
The Open Call is directed by artists and visual creators, with work principally in two dimensions due to the characteristics of the space, using painting, illustration or graphic arts as a language in small and medium formats.
Disciplines in three dimensions or of a character different to that previously stipulated will be taken into consideration, working with the conditions of the space, the lighting and the location within the exhibition room.
We are looking for well thought out projects to be exhibited at Miscelanea which take into account the exhibition space and have not previously been exhibited in Barcelona.
Proposals which experiment with new formats and languages and attempt to offer an innovative approach will be looked upon favourably. Activities which compliment the exhibition (conferences, projections, workshops, publications, etc) would also be appreciated.
The selected projects will be exhibited at MISCELANEA during the year 2013 and each exhibition will last 3 weeks.
The selection group will be able to change the total number of those selected as well as suggesting adjustments that might improve the selection.

| 20 September | Publication of selected projects. |
How to present projects
HOW TO SUBMITT YOUR PROJECT:
Projects should be sent by email to
convocatoria@miscelanea.info
indicating in the subject line: Open Call 2012 + Title of project.
Using attachments the information sent should be:
1. Information about the artist and the Project Proposal:
Properly filled out form in PDF format.

2. Graphic documentation:
JPG images of at least 3 works of the project presented for exhibition.
(It is not necessary for the images to be high resolution, just enough to be seen on screen)
3. Additional material (If necessary for the proposal)
Video in .AVI or .MPEG format
Audio in MP3 format
Dossier or archive in PDF format of other projects completed.
· Portfolios will not be accepted, only projects proposed exclusively for the Open Call.
· It is requested that the project be sent once and only once to the email address.
